What did we do?
Day 14 - After one final walk on Punta Uva beach we packed the car and headed north towards San Jose. About 5 km south of Limon we missed a turn that would have taken us around the city of Limon, and instead ended up driving right through the city. It was interesting, but I had heard so many bad stories about crime in Limon that I was somewhat apprehensive as we made our way through the city. From Limon to San Jose we were in heavy traffic and as we entered into the final mountain passes on #32 it started to rain steadily and we spent about an hour immersed in the clouds. As we came down from the mountains into the San Jose valley the sun broke through and we enjoyed beautiful blue skies and cooler breezy weather.
The best sight on this drive was spotting a sloth hanging upside down, moving limb over limb along the power line beside the highway.
Waze faithfully guided us to our destination at the Adventure Inn where we we spent our final night in Costa Rica before flying out of SJO.
The price at Adventure Inn was $138 per night including breakfast and transport to the airport. We enjoyed the hotel. The rooms were large and clean with very comfortable beds. They had a pool and hot tub and the restaurant hotel served decent food.
Day 15 - The shuttle van organized by the Adventure Inn picked us up promptly at 11 am for a quick and efficient trip to the Airport. Goodbye Costa Rica.
